Competition for Transition Year Students
Transition Year students in schools across Dublin City are invited to enter pieces of work on the meaning of International Women’s Day. Students may wish to highlight women’s achievements in Ireland and across the world in politics, society and community, arts and culture, science or business. Students may also wish to explore what they see as gender inequality, for example women’s access to decision-making, violence against women, the higher poverty rates and lower pay experienced by women.

The format for competition entry is open and flexible. Students can submit entries in the form of image, text, video or other media. This competition is an opportunity for students to really get creative with their ideas.

The closing date for entry to the competition is Monday 29th March 2010.

Dublin City Council will award prizes to the school with the best individual or group entries. The prizes are as follows:

First Prize: €750
