Spoilt for choice in Dublin
Decisions decisions - Dublin is packed with great places to eat and offers a wide range of both Irish and foreign cuisine. With over a thousand restaurants to choose from, you will be spoilt for choice in Dublin.
The Temple Bar area is a great spot for lunch or dinner and has lots of little cafes and restaurants tucked away along the side streets. The Joy of Coffee is a nice, relaxing place to enjoy breakfast or a morning coffee before setting out for the day in the city. It’s worth noting that on Saturday mornings Temple Bar hosts a gourmet food market in Meeting House Square.
In recent years, many Asian restaurants have popped up all along Parnell Street and the surrounding area- take your pick for some truly authentic Chinese cooking. Dublin also offers a variety of Japanese restaurants and Aya, off Wicklow Street, has a fine selection of sushi and other Japanese delights.
French pastries? Léon, on Trinity Street, has a fantastic assortment of pastries, cakes, and teas and the Parisian style décor is both beautiful and charming. Just around the corner, Les Maison Des Gourmets on Castle Street, serves up some interesting breads, cakes, and tarts and leaves you in the perfect location to take a stroll around the Grafton Street Shopping area or the George’s Street Arcade.
The food culture in Dublin City has blossomed so much over the years that when it comes to your evening meal you would be well-advised to reserve a table, especially if you would like to visit such places as Peploe’s on St. Stephen’s Green or Chapter One on Parnell Square. If you’re looking for Indonesian food, stop by The Chameleon restaurant in Temple Bar which serves delicious Indonesian food in a relaxing, atmospheric setting.
After dinner, take a walk along Exchequer Street and choose one of the Italian wine bars in which to enjoy a good coffee or glass of wine. Or stop by Ukiyo for some Japanese sake and maybe a round or two of karaoke. Afterwards, of course, you could always take a stroll through the city, soak up the nightlife, and decide where to dine tomorrow.
